Transport Museum launches campaign “Making a Museum Together”, within which Muscovites can participate in the compilation of his collection. The museum accepts items from the late 19th – late 20th centuries, related to the history of trams, buses, subways, taxis and cars. These can be objects of the urban environment, items for navigation and information, elements of vehicles, as well as old photographs, postcards, tickets, books, timetables, uniforms of road service employees, and much more.
“The Moscow Transport Museum shows the history of the city and its inhabitants through the prism of legendary transport facilities. In 2023, we will become a large space, a multifunctional cultural center, which is unthinkable without communicating with our visitors, without involving them in a dialogue about the city and its transport. And we would like to start this dialogue right now. Every resident of the capital can leave his mark on the history of Moscow by bringing to the museum’s collection items related not only to the history of urban transport, but also to personal, family memory. We will gladly accept these testimonies of the past into our collection in order to preserve our common history, ”said Oksana Bondarenko, director of the Moscow Transport Museum.
Accepted exhibits will become part of the museum’s collection, will be part of the permanent exhibition, and will inspire temporary exhibitions.

Applications will be selected by the museum’s research department. All items that will be included in the permanent exhibition will be marked with the names of the owners and their stories.
The Moscow Transport Museum is an open urban space and a living research center. Its funds contain more than 250 copies of cars and trucks, taxis, buses, trolley buses, cars of city services, legendary one and a half and three-ton cars, bicycles and motor vehicles.
In 2023, the permanent exhibition of the Museum of Transport of Moscow will open near the square of three stations – in the garage of the architect Konstantin Melnikov at 27 Novoryazanskaya Street. The building is a masterpiece of the constructivist era.
Before the opening of the new space, the Museum of Transport of Moscow presents exhibition and exhibition projects at various sites of the transport infrastructure.
In May this year in the historical pavilion of VDNKh “Transport of the USSR” opened exhibition area of the Museum of Transport of Moscow. The first exhibition was dedicated to the history of the people’s automobile brand “Moskvich” and the legendary plant “Moskvich”.
