At the International Military-Technical Forum “Army-2021” a round table “Prospects for the development and use of military-purpose robotic systems of air, land and sea-based” was held.

Welcoming the participants of the scientific event, the deputy head of the Military Innovative Technopolis (VIT) “ERA” Colonel Andrey Morozov noted that currently robots of various types are successfully replacing humans in many fields of activity, solving various tasks. Their role in modern armed conflicts has increased. Therefore, today robotization in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation is one of the priority areas. It is obvious that in the near future it is the effective use of robotic systems (RTC) on the battlefield that will determine its outcome.

The event was also addressed by the head of the research department of prospecting and predictive research of VIT “ERA” Yevgeny Nazarov on the topic: “Directions of development of robotic systems in the Military Innovative Technopolis” ERA “.

In his report, Yevgeny Nazarov spoke about a qualitative leap in the development of RTK in the world, that robotics has penetrated into everyday life of a person, and today the need for a military RTK is sharply discussed in the country.

The head of the department also announced that a separate cluster of robotics operates in Technopolis, united in a research department and three laboratories.

In addition, Evgeny Nazarov informed the participants of the round table that due to the rapidly changing methods of conducting local conflicts and due to the effective use of RTK in them, Technopolis is working on such projects as “Fly”, the “UAV-target” project, the “Autobot” project and the Rescuer project.

Within the framework of the round table, a representative of the People’s Liberation Army of China made a presentation.

Summing up the results of the event, the head of the VIT “ERA” department expressed confidence that in the near future the developments of Technopolis will be introduced and in demand both in the Ministry of Defense and in the civilian sphere.

Fly project

UAV of a multi-rotor type for conducting research of confined spaces – abandoned buildings and structures in which the presence of a person is prohibited, as well as for conducting reconnaissance of structures, for example, after natural disasters or accidents.

UAV-target project

Within the framework of the project, the issues of countering UAVs with the use of small arms are being worked out. A target drone, a multi-rotor UAV with a specific set of functions, has been designed and successfully used. Experiments have been carried out with the participation of Airborne Forces units, a methodological guide is being prepared for countering UAVs with the use of small arms.

The Autobot project is an example of a dual-use product. It is an electric off-road vehicle that can perform various tasks of moving personnel and cargo in both the military and civilian sectors.

In the “Rescuer” project, work is underway to implement a drone with a system for dumping a lifebuoy to a drowning man. The circle inflates automatically when it touches the water surface. The monitoring system of the coastal zone, installed on one of the public beaches of Anapa, is being tested. The city administration became interested in the development.
