In the near future, work will begin on the Luzhnetskaya embankment, as well as on the embankments of Taras Shevchenko, Prechistenskaya and Kremlin.

Specialists of the municipal services complex have completed the renovation of the Berezhkovskaya embankment in the west of the capital.

“Seasonal work continues on the jointing of the granite facing of the embankments, and it is planned to repair more than 240,000 running meters by mid-November. The renovation has been completed on Berezhkovskaya Embankment, and in the near future work will begin on Luzhnetskaya. Then we will update the seams on the embankments of Taras Shevchenko, Prechistenskaya and Kremlevskaya “, – said the Deputy Mayor of Moscow in the Moscow Government for housing and communal services and improvement

Peter Biryukov.

Embankments are joined every five years.

“Such repairs are necessary to increase the service life of the facilities. Over time, the material of the seams collapses, most often this is due to the fact that grass grows in it. Destruction can lead to displacement of granite slabs and even to their falling out, ”explained Pyotr Biryukov.

The head of the municipal economy complex noted that the repair of the joints begins with sandblasting the stone, then the specialists proceed directly to the jointing.

The seams between the plates are cleaned of the old filler, washed, then filled with polymer-cement material and rubbed with a special waterproof solution.

Pyotr Biryukov added that these works are practically invisible for the townspeople – no overlaps are required. Scaffolding is installed on the water side and moved from site to site.
