On Wednesday, at the Gornostay training ground in the Primorsky Territory, the Russian team twice updated the record on the obstacle course of the Marine Assault Competition of the International Army Games. Two squads of marines covered the route in 8 minutes 23 seconds and in 8 minutes exactly, improving the results of the all-army stage by more than 40 seconds. The three leaders were closed by the branch of the People’s Republic of China.

The obstacle course includes about 20 obstacles inherent in the tasks of the Marine Corps units. Among them are brick walls with breaks, a blockage, a moat with water, a wooden fence, a wire net, an area with water pipes and others. One of the most difficult obstacles is the telegraph pole, the communication line on which the participants have to break off, the five-meter wall, which must be climbed by the rope, as well as the wire fence. The start was carried out simultaneously for two teams, in the order established by the draw.

The Marines-2021 competition is being held at two training grounds for the Pacific Fleet (Pacific Fleet) marines from 22 to 29 August. It is attended by teams of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, the People’s Republic of China, the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela. For the first time, teams from the Republics of Abkhazia and South Ossetia are participating in the competition.

Ahead is the final stage of the competition – “The Trail of Survival”, which will take place on Friday, August 27 at the Ermine training ground. Admission to the event will be free with a passport of a citizen of the Russian Federation. The event starts at 10:00 local time.

The International Army Games 2021 will be held from August 22 to September 4, 2021 on the territory of 11 states (Russia, Algeria, Armenia, Belarus, Vietnam, Iran, Qatar, Kazakhstan, China, Serbia, Uzbekistan). In total, more than 5 thousand servicemen, consisting of 277 teams from 42 countries, take part in 34 contests of ARMI-2021.
