Within the framework of the seminar with the heads of the psychological services of the territorial bodies of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia, which are part of the Siberian Federal District, the interregional department of psychological work of the GUFSIN of Russia in the Krasnoyarsk Territory held the second stage of the All-Russian competition of professional skills “The best psychologist of the penal system”. Psychologists from 10 territorial bodies of the Siberian Federal District took part in the competition.

The professional knowledge of penitentiary psychologists participating in the competition was assessed by a competition commission chaired by Oksana Godovanets, a senior inspector for special assignments of the psychological support department of the Department of Psychological Support of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia.

The competition included three stages: the performance of competitive tasks for the knowledge of scientists who made the greatest contribution to the development of psychology, the performance of competitive tasks for the knowledge of basic concepts in psychology and the solution of practical problems.

According to the results of tests by members of the competition committee, the first place was awarded to Viktor Kabakov – a contestant from the GUFSIN of Russia in the Irkutsk region. The second place was taken by Kristina Kyshtymova (of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia for the Republic of Khakassia), the third place was taken by Joseph Yander (the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia for the Omsk Region).

The professional work of the winner of the second stage of the competition “The best psychologist of the penal correction system” is directed for selection to the third stage, which will be held in the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia.
