Today the participants of the international competition “Polar Star” at the Brestsky training ground in the Republic of Belarus have started the second stage competitions among the special purpose units of nine countries.

As part of the second stage of the competition, Russian special forces made an exit to the reconnaissance area, having completed a march over rough terrain with a length of 30 kilometers. The route of the Russian team ran through an unfamiliar swampy-wooded area. The movement of a group of Russian special forces was carried out off the roads with the organization of direct security, observance of camouflage and secrecy of actions. The time for the march was allotted no more than 12 hours.

During the march, the paratroopers worked out exercises, including “Entering the reconnaissance area”, “Conducting a communication session”, “Overcoming an infected area of ​​the terrain”, “Overcoming a water barrier”, “Finding and removing a cache”, “Shooting as part of a special task force”, “Providing first aid to the victim.”

The international competition “Polar Star” among special-purpose units is held on the territory of the Republic of Belarus on the basis of the Brestsky training ground from August 22 to September 4 as part of the VII International Army Games. It is attended by teams of the armed forces of nine states – Russia, Belarus, Venezuela, India, Iran, China, Morocco, Pakistan, Uzbekistan.

The Russian team at international competitions will be represented by the winners of the all-army stage of the “Polar Star-2021” competition – the best scouts of the special forces of the Airborne Forces. In addition, the Rosgvardia team will take part in the competition on an out-of-competition basis.
