Servicemen from Russia, China, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Abkhazia, Uzbekistan and India, within the framework of the second stage of the Elbrus Ring international competition, performed a parallel crossing over the Baksan mountain river in the Elbrus region. The Russian team set a new record when completing the sixth special task of the competition.

The groups of climbers after the start of the march, which took place on the parade ground of the Terskol Mountain Training and Survival Center, went to the designated initial area, where they made preparations for crossing the mountain river. In the course of performing the special task “Parallel crossing”, the servicemen, resting their feet on the double (lower) rope and holding their hands on the double upper rope, crossed to the opposite bank with side steps.

The best time when crossing the Baksan mountain river in the Baksan gorge was shown by the Russian team, which set a new record of 6 minutes 48 seconds, breaking the record of 8 minutes 20 seconds set by the Uzbek team in 2020.

The second result was shown by the team of Uzbekistan with a result of 7 minutes 19 seconds and also improved its time compared to previous years. The team of Kazakhstan crossed the mountain river in 8 minutes 25 seconds, thus showing the third result.

The scoring of the second stage of the “Elbrus Ring” will take place after the return of the subunits from a hundred-kilometer march around Elbrus.

In total, more than 90 people from the divisions involved in the performance of tasks in the highlands were involved in the competition.
