The team of Russian military divers completed the Flange exercise faster than all the teams.

The features of the exercise are limited visibility under water (no more than 30 centimeters), a large total weight of the assembled parts (about 80 kilograms) and bolts of different lengths used for assembly (a seat of individual length is made for each bolt).

Divers need to assemble two flange connections and connect them together using studs of different diameters, nuts and gaskets.

The assembly time for our team was 17 minutes and 11 seconds. This result, even taking into account the time penalty for one loose connection, is the best result in this exercise among all the teams participating in the competition.

After completing five exercises of the competitive program, the Russian Navy team has the best time in three exercises, which gives a good chance of winning in the “Depth”.

Tomorrow all teams will perform the last exercise – “Rope”. According to its conditions, two divers under water for 30 seconds pull the boat on the surface of the water by the rope tied to its bow. The most points will be earned by the team that will stretch the boat farthest in the allotted time.
