In the Republic of Armenia, within the framework of the international competition “Warrior of Peace” of the Army International Games ARMY-2021, the professional military stage “Athlete” has started.

During the competition of the stage, a member of the national team of the Republic of Belarus, captain Alexander Tavruk, performing at number 7, set a competition record when performing an exercise – throwing a grenade weighing 600 g at a distance, with a result of 72 m. 35 cm.

During the first test of the stage on the territory of the military unit of the Ministry of Defense of Armenia in Ijevan, the contestants competed in running 100 meters, pulling up on the bar and throwing grenades for accuracy and range.

In particular, the grenade is thrown at 4 targets, which are at a distance of 20 m, 25 m, 30 m and 35 m. Each target consists of two circles with a common center. The diameter of the circle is 2 and 4 meters.

Female servicemen performed a power set of exercises, which is practiced within 1 minute: the first 30 seconds – the maximum number of forward bends until the elbow touches the knees of the legs from a supine position, hands behind the head, the second 30 seconds – the maximum number of flexions and extensions of the arms in support lying down.

The “Athlete” military sports stage is held in the form of two days of all-around competitions, the program of which includes the following exercises: throwing a grenade for range and accuracy, pulling up on the bar, running 100m, a complex military-sports exercise “Athlete” with a track up to 2 km on rugged mountain-wooded terrain with knife throwing.

Upon completion of the “Athlete” stage, the referee commission will determine the best in the team and individual competition.

On September 1, a ceremony of awarding and rewarding the winners based on the results of all stages of the competition will take place.

During the period of the “Warrior of Peace” competition, it was held on the territory of the Russian Federation, the Republics of Belarus, Kazakhstan and Armenia. In 2018, representatives of the armed forces of the states of Greece and Iran took part in the competition for the first time, and in 2021 Qatar announced to participate.

The International Army Games 2021 are held from August 22 to September 4, 2021 on the territory of 11 states (Russia, Algeria, Armenia, Belarus, Vietnam, Iran, Qatar, Kazakhstan, China, Serbia, Uzbekistan). In total, more than 5 thousand servicemen, consisting of 277 teams from 42 countries, take part in 34 contests of ARMI-2021.
