Dmitry Chernyshenko: The Russian Paralympians are confidently in the top three in the medal standings, breaking records and replenishing the national team’s piggy bank with new awards. Today, four athletes in swimming, athletics and table tennis have climbed to the highest step of the Paralympic podium, nine more bronze awards were brought by athletes in table tennis, swimming, fencing and archery.
At the end of four days of competition, our team continues to hold the third line in the unofficial team standings – we have 39 medals, including 13 gold, 9 silver and 17 bronze.
The whole country these days is proud of the Paralympians, each of whom has gone through a difficult life path, but thanks to their unbending character and fortitude, they were able to focus on conquering new sports heights. We cheer for Russian athletes at the Paralympic Games in Tokyo and look forward to new bright victories.
