In the Ryazan Region, within the framework of the third stage of the international competition “Airborne Platoon” ARMI-2021, a “race of patrols” was held during the exercise “Orientation in squads without crews”.

Teams of five went out on the track with an interval of 10 minutes, having in their hands a route with control points (checkpoints) on the map that needed to be found. Fixation at the point was carried out using an electronic accounting system.

Orienteering was assessed in accordance with the rules of the International Rogaining Federation (IRF) in the format of 3 hours (short distance). Each branch of the national team had to cover the distance in the shortest possible time.

Each team had to run a total of more than 60 km (about 20 km for each squad), while finding as many checkpoints as possible, scattered throughout the distance.

In total, more than 450 military personnel from 18 countries take part in the Airborne Platoon competition as part of national army teams.

Competitions between paratroopers from different countries are held as part of the International Army Games 2021 from August 22 to September 2 at the Dubrovichi training ground of the Tula Guards Airborne Force in the Ryazan Region.
