Today, on August 28, at the Naval Polytechnic Institute of the Naval Academy of Military Education and Research Center in Peterhof, a solemn ritual of bringing freshmen to the Military Oath took place. In a solemn atmosphere, 314 freshmen, including 6 girls, took the oath of allegiance to the Motherland.

Future officers arrived at the institute from more than 25 regions of the Russian Federation, and the competition for admission significantly exceeded the indicators of last year and amounted to more than 5 people per place. Among those who entered the institute, 35 people graduated from pre-university educational institutions of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

Traditionally, a high competition – 20 people for a place withstood the girls, all of them will be trained at the Faculty of Automation Control Systems. All 6 cadets graduated from school with a gold medal. On behalf of the Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy, Admiral Nikolai Yevmenov, Deputy Chief of the All-Russian Scientific Center of the Navy “Naval Academy”, Hero of Russia, Rear Admiral Sergei Rachuk has congratulated the first-year cadets on behalf of the Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy, Admiral Nikolai Yevmenov: training, thanks to which a whole galaxy of outstanding military leaders, scientists, designers, mechanical engineers, radio engineers came out of its walls. To be the successors of these glorious traditions is not only a great honor for you, but also a great responsibility. Great Russia needs a powerful fleet, and a modern fleet needs competent and persistent officers and warrant officers. I am confident that you, standing in the ranks, will not only honor your duty as a defender of the Fatherland as servicemen, but will also give a new impetus to the development of military science. Let the behest of the famous Russian admiral Pavel Stepanovich Nakhimov, who said: “A sailor does not have a difficult or easy way, he has one way – a glorious one”, will become the main motto for you!

Among those invited to the solemn ritual of taking the oath were relatives of freshmen, they represented the High Command, the administration of St. Petersburg and veterans. The words of congratulations to the freshmen were spoken by Professor of the Department of Nuclear Power Plants, Rear Admiral Igor Kolesnikov, Adviser to the Governor of St. Petersburg Captain 1st Rank Mikhail Yurchenko Mikhail, Head of the Administration of the Peterhof Municipal Formation Alexander Shifman.
