More than 358 thousand people visited the sites of the international military-technical forum “ARMY-2021” in the Eastern Military District. The events of the Forum, held under the auspices of the Russian Ministry of Defense, have already become traditional and every year they gather more and more participants and spectators.

Within the framework of the scientific and business program under the motto “2021 – the year of science and technology”, a number of events were held on the use of robotic systems and artificial intelligence. Demonstration of inventions and developments in the field of strengthening and increasing the defense capability of the state at the Kulibin and Breakthrough Technology sites was held with the participation of not only military personnel, but also military-patriotic clubs and modeling circles.

This year, VVO deployed about 70 exhibition sites in 37 cities and towns on the territory of 11 subjects of the Far East, which is 25 sites more than a year earlier.

For the first time, the Forum sites were deployed in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) and in the Magadan Region, residents of such remote areas as the village of Pevek and Cape Schmidta in the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug were able to become participants and guests of the IMTF “Army-2021”.

More than 600 pieces of weapons and military equipment, including about 20 aircraft and helicopters, about 8 ships and submarines, were displayed at the points of the static display. For the first time, viewers saw 20 newest models, such as the base minesweeper Yakov Balyaev with the Skanda unmanned boat, the Linza armored ambulance of the Typhoon-K family, the Aleut combat arctic all-terrain vehicle, integrated water treatment plants, modern models of weapons, equipment and more.

Of course, one of the main tasks during the Forum was to ensure the comprehensive security of the event, including preventing the spread of coronavirus infection.
