Within the framework of international cooperation in the Federal Penitentiary Service, a working meeting with the Directorate of the Norwegian Penitentiary Service was held via videoconferencing.

The event was attended by Oleg Lazarenko, Deputy Head of the Administration of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia – Head of the Department for Ensuring Interaction with the CIS Countries, International Cooperation and Protocol Events, Vladimir Tropov, Deputy Head of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia for the Arkhangelsk Region, Deputy Head of the Department for Monitoring the Execution of Punishments Not Related to Isolation convicts from the society of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia for the Arkhangelsk Region Alena Tyrkasova, Head of the Penitentiary Institute of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia for the Arkhangelsk Region Anna Ursaeva, Head of IK-1 of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia for the Arkhangelsk Region Sergey Legky, head of the department for educational work with convicts IK-1 of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia for the Arkhangelsk Region Yuri Lyubov and Nikita Sokolov, Deputy Head of the International Department of the FKU TsNTL of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia.

Interaction with the Norwegian Penitentiary Service is carried out on the basis of the Memorandum of Cooperation between the Federal Penitentiary Service, as well as the Work Program between the Federal Penitentiary Service and the Directorate of the Norwegian Penitentiary Service for 2020-2022.

As part of the event, representatives of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia for the Arkhangelsk Region shared their experience of working with convicts, discussed topical issues of activity, talked about the peculiarities of the work of correctional centers – a new type of punishment, as well as about preventive work with convicts registered with the criminal executive inspectorate.

The Norwegian colleagues, in turn, also shared the peculiarities of working with convicts held in the prison in the city of Trondheim.

At the end of the event, the parties thanked each other for the meeting, agreed on the timing of the implementation of the planned activities and further mutually beneficial cooperation, which has been going on for over 20 years.
