The enterprise, founded in 1963, is today one of the largest Russian manufacturers of medical equipment.

Federal State Unitary Enterprise of the Central Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedics named after N.N. Priorov (FSUE CITO) will receive the status of an industrial complex and the right to tax benefits provided for by the laws of Moscow. The rate of income tax credited to the city budget for this innovative enterprise will be reduced to 13.5 percent instead of the standard 17 percent. The corresponding decree was signed Sergei Sobyanin

Founded in 1963, CITO is today one of the largest Russian manufacturers of medical equipment. The enterprise has the status of a responsible executor of the flagship project of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia to organize the production of import-substituting medical products for traumatology, orthopedics and prosthetics within the framework of the state program “Development of the pharmaceutical and medical industry.”

FSUE CITO is located in the Koptevo district at the address: Priorova street, house 10. The area of the land plot is 0.62 hectares, the area of capital objects is 7.8 thousand square meters. The company employs 156 people, the average monthly wage is 87.4 thousand rubles.

The company has branches in three cities of Russia – Kursk (opened in 2009), Belgorod (2012) and Izhevsk (2019). In 2021–2022, it is planned to organize branches in Kazan, Kurgan, Nizhny Novgorod and St. Petersburg.

The company manufactures over 500 types of medical products for traumatology and orthopedics. Among the manufactured products are endoprostheses, external fixation devices, products for bone and intraosseous osteosynthesis, products for skeletal traction, prostheses of the upper and lower extremities, bandages, splints, orthopedic devices, components for orthosis and others.

From 2017 to 2021, CITO implemented an investment project for reconstruction and technical re-equipment with a total budget investment of 3.56 billion rubles. The company has created or modernized about 150 jobs.

On an area of over 11 thousand square meters, there are about 300 units of modern technological equipment: machining centers, machines for surface modification and application of functional coatings, 3D printers for the manufacture of individual implants and prosthetic and orthopedic products, and more.

The result of the project was the creation of a full technological cycle production: from primary processing of semi-finished products to sterilization and packaging of finished medical products. Technological capabilities allow the production of implantable products of any complexity, with increased reliability and safety – the most significant indicators in traumatology and orthopedics.

The implementation of the investment project will provide at least 30 percent of the needs of the domestic market with competitive implantable medical devices for traumatology and orthopedics and, accordingly, reduce dependence on imports.
