On the basis of the special purpose department “Granit” of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia in the Republic of Karelia, an annual triathlon competition among the special forces of the city of Petrozavodsk took place. 7 teams from the Federal Penitentiary Service, the Frontier Directorate of the FSB and the Russian Guard took part in the competition.
The special purpose triathlon is a comprehensive test of the professional training of special forces, all stages of which are close to real combat situations. The exercises are designed in such a way that just an athlete – a sprinter, a shooter or a climber – cannot pass them. Here you need a set of knowledge and skills that will allow a fighter to complete a service and combat mission and show the best time.
At the first stage of the test, the participants had to go through a special obstacle course, consisting of various elements. The second stage was to test the skills of high-speed shooting from a Makarov pistol. The exercise was complicated by the fact that the shooters were shooting in gas masks. The final stage was high-altitude training, in which the fighters had to carry out the descent and ascent along the building with elements of special mountaineering.
According to the results of the competition, the first and third places were taken by the teams of the special purpose department “Granit” of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia for the Republic of Karelia, the second place was taken by the employees of the Rosgvardia Directorate for the Republic of Karelia.
