At the Brestsky training ground in the Republic of Belarus, a competition among snipers of special-purpose units in the exercise “Catch up” of the second stage of the international competition “Sniper Frontier” was held.
Russian snipers successfully hit all targets within the established two-minute period allotted for the exercise of the doubles stage of the competition. According to the results of the exercise, Russian sniper pairs took first and third places.
According to the conditions of this exercise, the shooters had to hit a target-closure with a diameter of 20 centimeters from a prone position at a distance of 200 to 400 meters. In case of hitting this target, two special destructible targets with a diameter of 30 centimeters were launched at a distance of 150 to 200 meters. The difficulty of this exercise was that these targets move at a speed of 8 to 12 kilometers per hour at a height of 1.5-2 meters. In addition, during the “Catch” exercise, the snipers had to hit two more special targets with a light vibration indicator measuring 40×40 centimeters at ranges from 300 to 800 meters.
The “Sniper Frontier” competition among special forces snipers is held on the territory of the Republic of Belarus on the basis of the Brestsky training ground of the 38th separate guards air assault brigade of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus from August 22 to September 4 as part of the VII International Army Games. Teams from Russia, Belarus, India, Iran, Qatar, China, Pakistan, Serbia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Sri Lanka take part in it.
The Russian team at international competitions is represented by the winners of the all-army stage of the “Sniper Frontier-2021” competition – the best snipers of the special forces of the Eastern and Western military districts of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. In addition, the teams of the Russian Guard and DOSAAF of Russia participate in the competitions on an out-of-competition basis.
