A battalion tactical exercise with marine units of the Caspian Flotilla (CFL) has started in the Republic of Dagestan. During the exercise, the servicemen will practice the amphibious assault landing on an unequipped coast with live firing.

The Marine Corps units as part of the battalion tactical group have already made a march into the area of ​​the formation of the columns, and then into the area of ​​execution of tasks. During the movement, the marines repulsed the air attack of the simulated enemy, overcame mined and contaminated areas of the terrain, and took measures to maintain interaction and communication.

During the week, the marines will practice tactical actions as part of reconnaissance and shock (fire) contours with the support of artillery and air defense units.

Also, the units will have to fulfill the tasks of preparing the antiamphibious defense of the sea coast, organize combat security, a fire system, engineering equipment of positions and all-round support of a training battle.

During the exercise, fire support of the units will be carried out by the artillery of the marines. Terrain reconnaissance, target designation and fire adjustment will be carried out by units of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).

During the active phase of the exercise, the subunits will work out the issues of conducting anti-amphibious defense by performing live firing from small arms and military equipment.

The main task during the exercise is to develop the skills of tactical maneuvering and thinking, interspecies interaction, initiative and the ability of commanders to make non-standard decisions. When assessing the actions of subunits and their commanders, special attention is paid to the introduction of the combat experience of modern armed conflicts.

More than 500 servicemen were involved in the exercise, assault boats of the Serna type and about 100 units of military and special equipment were involved.
