Battalion tactical exercises (BTU) in the troops of the Southern Military District (YuVO) additionally covered training grounds in North Ossetia and the Rostov region.

Battalion tactical groups of the motorized rifle unit of the 58th combined-arms army of the Southern Military District at the Tarskoye training ground in North Ossetia, as well as servicemen of the 150th motorized rifle division at the Kadamovsky training ground in the Rostov region, are involved in the bilateral BTUs.

The subdivisions were raised on a training alert and carried out marches to the mission areas, where they began to equip the concentration areas.

Servicemen will perform live firing from all types of small arms, grenade launchers, as well as combat vehicles at targets imitating tracked, wheeled vehicles and enemy manpower.

Tank subunits as part of reconnaissance and fire complexes will perform live firing at targets located at a distance of up to 4 thousand meters, hidden in mountainous terrain.

In the course of engineering support of troops in conditions of maneuvering defense, engineering units will use the Syrian Wall tactic, which ensures the creation of bulk shelters for armored vehicles during combat and performing anti-fire maneuvers. Also, the servicemen will carry out engineering reconnaissance of the terrain and objects, provide the device and maintenance of engineering barriers, make passages in mined areas, prepare and maintain routes of movement and maneuver of troops.

In addition, air support will be provided by the crews of the army aviation helicopters of the Southern Military District Mi-28N “Night Hunter”, Mi-35, Mi-8AMTSh “Terminator”.
