Marine units of the Caspian Flotilla, as part of a battalion tactical exercise (BTU), conducted raid and reconnaissance and search operations with live fire on armored personnel carriers BTR-82A and BTR-70M.

The servicemen performed maneuvers at the Adanak mountain range. In an unfamiliar mountainous and wooded area, the marines organized a search, blocking, seizure and destruction of a simulated enemy. In one of the tactical episodes, the Marine Corps units, while marching, repulsed a fire ambush by a sabotage and reconnaissance group of an illegal armed formation.

Also, the marines improved their skills in organizing observation posts, arranging reconnaissance ambushes, engineering equipment of positions, installing mine-explosive barriers.

Further, at one of the stages of the BTU, the servicemen will have to practice the landing of amphibious assault forces on the unequipped coast with live fire.

More than 500 servicemen of the flotilla were involved in the exercise, about 100 units of military and special equipment, including Serna-class landing boats, were involved in it.
