“For the training of military personnel – including for practical training, internships, exercises, training at training grounds and military equipment – in addition to teachers, to involve officers of the military level,” Sergei Shoigu ordered.

The minister also said that on September 1, 7,000 foreign servicemen from 58 countries would start training in Russian military universities: “Tomorrow, a new academic year begins in the educational institutions of the Ministry of Defense. Over 2.5 thousand students, 61 thousand cadets, 7 thousand military personnel from 58 countries, as well as 15 thousand pupils of pre-university educational institutions, including children from Syria, Laos, Mongolia, Tajikistan and South Ossetia, will start classes. ” …

General of the Army Sergei Shoigu asked his deputies, as well as the commanders-in-chief of the branches of the Armed Forces and the commanders of the branches of the armed forces, heads of universities, commanders of all levels, to ensure the high quality of the educational process, to take personal part in it.

“Celebrations dedicated to the Day of Knowledge and the beginning of the academic year will be held in all educational institutions of the Ministry of Defense,” Sergei Shoigu said.

In addition, the Minister of Defense noted that the Russian team is leading the International Army Games (ARMI-2021), which have become the most ambitious and representative in seven years of their holding. Its main rivals are teams from China, Belarus, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Iran and Vietnam. There are still several days of competition ahead. Sergei Shoigu wished the Russian servicemen endurance, good luck and convincing victories.

According to him, ARMI-2021 has become the most ambitious and representative in the seven years of its holding. The number of participants is 42 countries, including five new ones. The competitions are accepted by 11 states, for the first time – Algeria, Vietnam, Qatar and Serbia. “

“All experts and viewers notice that the competition has grown significantly. For each point, a really hot struggle unfolds. The teams are literally seconds apart from each other, and at the “Depth” and “Elbrus Ring” contests – a split second, ”the minister emphasized.

Then Sergei Shoigu moved on to the results of the International Military-Technical Forum (IMTF) “Army-2021”, during which the Russian Ministry of Defense signed 45 government contracts for more than 0.5 trillion rubles. He noted that at the forum one could see the latest Russian weapons, which are already being supplied to the troops.

The head of the military department said that representatives of 117 foreign countries, including 36 high-level ones, took part in the Army-2021 IMTF.

“About one and a half thousand domestic and foreign companies demonstrated over 28 thousand samples of military and dual-use products. The developments in the field of artificial intelligence, radio-electronic and information technologies were widely presented, ”the minister added.

Further, Sergei Shoigu said that the share of modern technology in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation will exceed 70%. “In eight months of this year,” the minister said, “over 15 and a half thousand new and modernized weapons, military and special equipment have been delivered to the Armed Forces. By the end of the year, the share of modern technology should be 71.9 percent ”.

Another issue on the selector’s agenda was the implementation of the priority programs of the state defense order for 2021 and the planning period of 2022 and 2023. We are talking about the creation of aircraft of strategic, military transport and operational-tactical aviation, which will determine the appearance of the Aerospace Forces in the near future. “We are systematically increasing their share in the volume of purchased aircraft,” Sergei Shoigu said.

“Last year,” he continued, “a credit scheme was introduced to finance government contracts for the advance delivery of such weapons. Thanks to this, it was possible not only to speed up the equipping of military units with modern models, but also to reduce their cost ”.

The minister stressed that multi-year contracts guarantee enterprises a stable workload, allow them to increase the salaries of workers and carry out various social projects.

“Today we will hear the leadership of the United Aircraft Corporation on the fulfillment of obligations to the Ministry of Defense,” Sergei Shoigu announced the closed part of the conference call.

Then the minister moved on to discuss issues related to the elimination of environmental damage at military facilities in the Arctic. “The Ministry of Defense started solving this problem in 2014. During this time, only within the framework of the project to clean up the Arctic, more than 26 thousand tons of scrap metal were removed from the region. Last year we launched environmental work in the country, ”said Sergei Shoigu. According to him, it is planned to eliminate pollution at eighty-one facilities by 2023.

“In 53 of them, the pollutant was completely eliminated on our own. More than 40 hectares of territory have been cleaned, over three thousand tons of scrap metal, six thousand tons of oily and five thousand cubic meters of solid waste have been collected. This made it possible to significantly reduce the negative impact on the environment. Today we will find out what remains to be done in this important area, ”the minister said.

Then Sergei Shoigu moved on to discuss the events in Afghanistan. “The situation in this country is critical. People try to escape from there even at the cost of their own lives, ”the minister said. He recalled that on behalf of Russian President Vladimir Putin, from 24 to 26 August, military transport aircraft in difficult conditions evacuated from Afghanistan citizens of the Russian Federation, the CSTO countries – Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Belarus, as well as Uzbekistan. Three Il-76MD aircraft and one Il-62 aircraft were involved in the event.

The Minister expressed gratitude to the Russian pilots and medical personnel for their prompt and precise work.
