During his visit to MPEI, the Deputy Prime Minister opened the first in Russia Center for Assessment and Development of Management Competencies, and also took part in a ceremonial lineup with the participation of teachers and students of the educational institution.
It was MPEI that was chosen as the first educational institution of higher education in Russia for the opening of the Competence Center on the initiative of the ANO “Russia – the country of opportunities”, the vice-premier noted. According to him, in total in 2021, competence centers will open on the basis of 25 educational institutions in 16 regions of the country, where about 150 thousand students will be tested for personal and cognitive abilities.
“Such centers for assessing competencies will become a platform for meeting students, employers and regional authorities, they are created to train the so-called over-professional skills. Here, students and recent graduates will be able to take a test of their business qualities, the results of which will form a personal profile of a young specialist with individual recommendations for additional educational programs. In addition, the profile will be displayed in a special database for employers, which will give the student access to suitable vacancies and internships. I believe that this is a very important tool that will allow for better training of future graduates, their preparation for professional tasks, interaction in the work collective, ”stressed Alexander Novak. Thus, universities will produce students who are maximally adapted to the tasks of the modern labor market, while students will receive the opportunity for social and career growth, he added.
The Deputy Prime Minister also noted the role of the university itself in the training of high-quality personnel for the domestic energy sector. “For over 90 years now, MPEI has been training professional personnel who will play leading roles in the future in the energy industry. Today the university unites 12 institutes, where about 4 thousand people were admitted for the first year today, ”the Deputy Prime Minister said during the ceremony.
According to the Deputy Prime Minister, the energy industry takes an important part in the country’s economy: about 2.5 million people are employed in the fuel and energy complex, which is about 4% of the total employed population of Russia – this is a significant sector of the economy that requires new technologies and new personnel. to move the industry forward, he said. Personnel training, according to the Deputy Prime Minister, continues to play one of the important roles in the future of Russia in the world energy market.
“According to experts, global energy consumption should double in the next 20 years. Energy is exactly the resource that will always be in demand. Today the industry faces a variety of challenges. It is necessary to develop traditional generation, increase efficiency and improve the reliability of generating equipment, introduce intelligent control systems for the power grid complex, and develop renewable energy sources. Many MPEI graduates today are top-level managers, I am sure that you will also become in demand, ”concluded Alexander Novak.
