The Russian team took second place in the international competition “Polar Star”, sharing it with the team of Uzbekistan. The Belarusian team became the leader of the competition among the special forces of nine countries. This was announced by the chief judge of the competition, Colonel of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus, Colonel Nikolai Smekhovich.

The scouts completed their participation in the field training competition among special forces units, having successfully passed all the tests. Within two weeks, the special forces went through 6 stages of the competition, during which they successfully completed all the competition tasks in a constantly changing tactical environment
in order to determine the best spetsnaz group. During the passage of the stages, the servicemen worked out for a while dozens of the most difficult exercises and standards for tactical, special, reconnaissance, fire, medical and engineering training. They performed combat training tasks, including jumping
with a parachute for landing accuracy, performing 30-kilometer marches over rough terrain with overcoming water obstacles, mined and contaminated areas, shooting from all types of standard weapons in the daytime and at night, hand-to-hand combat, storming a building, evacuating the wounded
and other difficult tasks.

The Russian team showed high coherence in the performance of tactical actions, the landing, during the defeat of targets from small arms, and excellent results in competitions in army hand-to-hand combat.

The international competition “Polar Star” among special-purpose units is held on the territory of the Republic of Belarus on the basis of the Brestsky training ground from August 22 to September 4 within the framework VII International Army Games. It is attended by teams of the armed forces of nine states – Russia, Belarus, Venezuela, India, Iran, China, Morocco, Pakistan, Uzbekistan.

The Russian team at international competitions will be represented by the winners of the all-army stage of the Polar Star-2021 competition – the best scouts of the special forces of the Airborne Forces of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. In addition, the Rosgvardia team will take part in the competition on an out-of-competition basis.
