This year it will be held at 35 venues.

Landscape Design Festival “Flower Jam” will be held this year at 35 venues in the capital. Sergei Sobyanin wrote about this in my blog.

“After a forced break, festivals are returning to Moscow. So far, on a limited scale – without noisy folk festivals and master classes. The Flower Jam Festival will be held for the fourth time. Traditionally, 75 thousand living trees, shrubs and flowers are waiting for guests at 35 festival venues, ”the Moscow Mayor said.

Landscape designers will decorate the playgrounds with compositions of various plants. Some projects will resemble the best gardens of previous years, and many will be presented to the audience for the first time. The curators of the projects are the winners of the “Flower Jam” competition of the past years, experts and members of the jury.

So, for example, a forest with birches, pines, spruces with real cones will appear on Revolution Square. The passage from Manezhnaya Square to Revolution Square will be transformed into a linden alley with flower beds in the classic Russian style. The designers will decorate Stoleshnikov Lane with a pergola entwined with wisteria and climbing roses. And at the entrance to the Central Department Store on Kuznetsky Most Street, guests will see the composition “Garden of Aquatic Plants”.

Muscovites and guests of the city will also be shown French mini-gardens of lavender, petunias, boxwood, roses and sage, a Japanese garden with bonsai and dwarf willows, and much more.

“On City Day, September 11, everyone will be able to take part in the creation of their own mini-gardens – flower arrangements at 17 sites in Moscow,” said Sergei Sobyanin.

Moscow restaurateurs will offer their original dishes and desserts. In the shopping chalets, you can buy original preserves, jams and souvenirs.

Flower Jam will run for a whole month – from September 1 to October 1. The festival will be held as part of the Moscow Seasons cycle of city street events. Guests must take precautions: wear masks, keep a social distance of one and a half meters. Concerts and master classes are not planned yet.

“Larger city festivals will be resumed only after a steady and long-term improvement in the epidemiological situation,” stressed Sergei Sobyanin.
