In the garrisons of the Amur Region, solemn meetings dedicated to the 76th anniversary of the end of World War II were held.
In the Belogorsk garrison of the Amur combined-arms formation of the Eastern Military District (VVO), a solemn meeting was opened by the commander of the Amur combined-arms formation of the VVO, Major General Alexander Sanchik, representatives of the administration and the council of veterans of the city of Belogorsk. After opening remarks, the participants of the event honored the victims of the Great Patriotic War with a minute of silence. To the sounds of a brass band, the rally participants laid fresh flowers and wreaths at the foot of the monument to the Soldiers – internationalists who died in the line of military duty outside our homeland.
In the city of Blagoveshchensk, solemn events in honor of the anniversary of the end of World War II were opened by the head of the Far Eastern Higher Combined Arms Command School (DVOKU), Major General Alexander Ignatenko and representatives of the Amur Region administration. Together with veterans of military operations, they laid fresh flowers at the foot of the monument to the Amur soldiers who died during the Great Patriotic War, after which they opened a monument dedicated to the soldiers – border guards on the territory of the artillery half-caponier – a monument of the historical heritage of the Amur Region.
Also, the laying of wreaths with the giving of military honors took place in other settlements of the Amur Region.
At the end of the solemn events, about four hundred young children of the cities and settlements of the Amur region took the oath of allegiance and joined the ranks of the military-patriotic movement “Yunarmiya”. In the Amur Region, the number of Yunarmeysky detachments amounted to more than 12 thousand people.
In total, more than 3 thousand servicemen of the Amur Combined Arms Association of the Air Defense Forces took part in the celebrations dedicated to the 76th anniversary of the end of the Second World War.
