During the meeting, Head of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia in Moscow Sergey Moroz, Ombudsman for Human Rights in Moscow Tatyana Potyaeva, members of the Public Expert Council under the Ombudsman for Human Rights in Moscow discussed issues of observance and protection of the rights of convicts serving sentences in KP- 2 and a section operating as a correctional center at KP-2.

Marina Vasina, assistant to the head of the UFSIN for human rights observance in the UIS, Andrey Artemchuk, deputy head of the UFSIN, and Oleg Govorov, head of KP-2, also took part in the work of the Council.

The participants of the event made a tour of the territory of two correctional institutions. The guests examined the living quarters of the detachments, the video surveillance post, the library, the dining room, where they were able to communicate with the chefs and get acquainted with the diet. After that, in the room of educational work, the human rights defenders talked with the convicts.

After the detour, the parties worked out a number of constructive solutions aimed at increasing the interaction of the regional UFSIN with the human rights community.

The head of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia in Moscow, Sergei Moroz, thanked everyone for their active civic position and assistance in the implementation of joint activities, noting the importance of common projects in solving the tasks assigned to the department. He emphasized the special role of the Council, as the coordinator of the interaction of the Federal Penitentiary Service with civil society institutions.
