Celebrations dedicated to the 76th anniversary of the end of World War II in the East of Russia began with the laying of flowers at the monument to the Heroes of the Far East in Khabarovsk.

Acting Chief of Staff of the Eastern Military District, Major General Grigory Tyurin, Deputy Commander for Military and Political Work, Colonel Alexander Manakov, as well as officers of the district headquarters took part in the ceremony of laying flowers at the monument “Heroes of the Far East, participants in the war on the Chinese Eastern Railway – 1929, near Lake Khasan – 1938, on the Khalkhin-Gol River – 1939, during the Manchurian, Yuzhno-Sakhalin, Kuril operations in 1945 “in Khabarovsk.

In addition, the servicemen of the guard of honor company took part in the event.

The musical accompaniment of the event was provided by the military orchestra of the headquarters of the Eastern Military District.

Then a thanksgiving service and laying of flowers at the monument to the Warriors of the Eastern Military District took place at the district headquarters. The event was attended by the leadership of the district, representatives of the Khabarovsk diocese, veterans, a company of the guard of honor, a military orchestra of the headquarters, members of the youth army, and a church choir.
