A detachment of ships of the Pacific Fleet (Pacific Fleet) consisting of the newest mine defense ship Yakov Balyaev, two small anti-submarine ships Ust-Ilimsk and Kholmsk, as well as the hydrographic vessel GS-44, arrived at the port of Okhotsk.

The call of the Pacific Fleet ships to the oldest Russian port on the Pacific Ocean is timed to coincide with the 290th anniversary of the fleet, the anniversary of the municipality and the end of the Second World War.

Excursions are planned for the residents of Okhotsk and guests of the city on the ships that have arrived. When organizing a visit, special attention will be paid to compliance with sanitary requirements.

The squadron’s crews will lay flowers at the sites of the Navy’s Battle Glory and take part in military-patriotic events.

The ships of the Pacific Fleet have repeatedly visited the place of their first basing. In 2013, a detachment of ships called at the port of Okhotsk as part of the commemorative campaign “Walk of Memory”. The detachment consisted of the Bystry destroyer, the Oslyabya large landing ship and the Kalar sea tug.
