In Ussuriisk, on the Day of Military Glory, representatives of the command of the combined arms army of the Eastern Military District (VVO) took part in the ceremony of laying wreaths and flowers at the Eternal Flame.

The event was also attended by veterans of the Great Patriotic War and labor, representatives of the administration, law enforcement agencies, sports and military clubs of the city, as well as servicemen of the company of the guard of honor. In addition, a minute of silence was organized.

“We are proud of the courage and courage of the heroes, and our sacred duty is to preserve and pass from generation to generation the truth and memory of the most terrible war,” said Colonel Nikolai Karnazhitsky, deputy commander of the Eastern Military District for military operations.

For reference: Until 2020, the day of the end of World War II was celebrated on September 2, but in April 2020, amendments were made to the current Federal Law “On Days of Military Glory and Memorable Dates of Russia”, according to which the celebration was postponed to September 3.
