Servicemen of the mountain motorized rifle formation of the Central Military District (CVD), during the practical stage of the Russian-Kazakh joint tactical exercise, destroyed a mock enemy bandit group with the help of artillery crews of the self-propelled guns “Nona-SVK” at the Kara-Khaak mountain range in the Republic of Tyva.

According to the concept of a practical episode of the exercise, during aerial reconnaissance by unmanned aerial vehicles “Orlan-10” a group of an illegal armed formation was found, which was moving along a mountain serpentine in the direction of the settlement.

To destroy the bandit group, the calculations of the 120-mm self-propelled artillery mounts of the ACS 2S23 “Nona-SVK” were used. The servicemen took up positions for firing and from a distance of more than 3 km carried out mortar fire at targets located on the opposite slopes of the mountains. Shooting with 120 mm mines is carried out at elevation angles of more than 45 degrees.

For further search and destruction of scattered groups of the simulated enemy, motorized rifle subunits on armored vehicles “Tiger” were involved, which, after artillery strikes, carried out the destruction of “militants” from small arms.

The main objectives of the exercise are to improve practical skills in the destruction of terrorist bandit formations, to work out interaction between units, as well as to develop a single concept for the conduct of hostilities.

The joint company tactical exercise of the servicemen of Russia and Kazakhstan will be held from August 31 to September 4. More than 500 military personnel and about 150 units of military equipment are involved in it.
