Among the awardees – 17 people:
– 14 football players – Fedor Zemskov, Andrey Kotenev, Stanislav Kosharny, Yuri Krasheninnikov, Alexey Makarov, Boris Nikonorov, Andrey Novikov, Artur Ferorotny, Denis Parkhomenko, Kirill Romanov, Ostap Fedorov, Maxim Chuzhkov, Dmitry Shishin and Anton Shkarin;
– three coaches – Mikhail Likhachev (head coach), Ilya Leonov (coach) and Andrey Bukhlitsky (goalkeeping coach).
All matches were held at a temporary stadium erected on the territory of the Luzhniki Olympic complex. A fan zone and a stage were also organized there, where concerts and other entertainment events for fans were held every day.
16 teams took part in the tournament, which played 32 matches – 24 group matches and playoff matches, including the final and the match for the third place: Russia (the Russian Football Union team), Portugal, Spain, Belarus, Brazil, El Salvador, Japan, Mozambique, Oman, Paraguay, Senegal, Switzerland, Tahiti, United Arab Emirates, Uruguay, United States of America. In total, 632 members of national teams took part in the championship, as well as about 120 referees and representatives of FIFA.

The Russian national team included eight players from Moscow clubs: Fedor Zemskov, Stanislav Kosharny, Boris Nikonorov, Andrey Novikov, Denis Pakhomenko, Ostap Fedorov – Lokomotiv, Andrey Kotenev and Anton Shkarin – Spartak.
The defender of the football club “Spartak” Anton Shkarin thanked Sergei Sobyanin and the Moscow Government for organizing the championship and returning the festive atmosphere to the capital.
“We receive messages about not only football, but the general mood. Everyone missed the holiday atmosphere, under the conditions of sanctions and pandemics, they were waiting for victories and events. Thank you very much for hosting a truly global event at the highest level, ”he said.
The head coach of the football club “Spartak” Mikhail Likhachev added that foreigners also noted the high level of organization of the championship. “All our foreign partners are delighted. They still write to me how impressed they are, how the World Cup went, what wonderful Luzhniki stadiums, what a wonderful holiday of football and sports it was. Of course, in the conditions of serious covid restrictions, you did your maximum, ”Mikhail Likhachev said.
The bronze medals were won by the Swiss national team, which defeated Senegal in the match for third place.
The President of the International Football Federation (FIFA) Gianni Infantino expressed his opinion about the holding of the championship in Russia: “This is the best beach soccer world championship in history. Russian people should feel proud, because the team got the title, only one champion in the tournament. Today I felt great emotions from returning to Moscow, I am very happy ”.
Taking into account the sanitary and epidemiological requirements, the occupancy rate of the stadium was limited. Nevertheless, about 55 thousand people were able to attend the matches of the Moscow championship.
Beach soccer in Moscow
There are 128 beach sports grounds in the capital, including eight outdoor beach soccer fields. About a thousand children and adults are involved in this sport in Moscow.
In the Russian Championship (Superleague) Moscow is represented by three professional clubs: CSKA, Lokomotiv (five-time championship winner) and Spartak.
The capital’s clubs Strogino and Rosich play in the Russian championship (first division, men).
Three Moscow teams take part in the All-Russian competitions (women) – “Strogino”, “Logodor” and “Zadornye”.
In the Moscow Beach Football Championship, 16 teams play in various divisions. Every year from six to 10 teams take part in children’s tournaments.
In the Moskomsport system, beach soccer athletes are trained by the State Budgetary Institution “Football Club” Strogino “, which trains more than 100 young men and women aged from nine to 20 years. Classes are conducted by two trainers. The club has already prepared seven athletes who play in various teams of the Russian Championship (Super League) in beach soccer. The women’s and men’s teams of FC “Strogino” twice became bronze medalists of the Russian championships.
