In the Tver region, events were held to mark the memorable date – the Day of the end of the Second World War.
Governor of the Tver region Igor Rudenya and adviser to the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Vasiliev, as well as servicemen of the Tver territorial garrison laid flowers at the Rzhevsky memorial to the Soviet soldier in memory of the soldiers who fell during the Great Patriotic War, and honored the memory with a minute of silence.
After the laying in the officers’ club of the military unit, the servicemen of the 12th military transport aviation division – the senior navigator of the guard, Colonel Yevgeny Chernov and the senior inspector-pilot of the combat training department of the guard, Lieutenant Colonel Maxim Semenenko, were awarded commemorative signs “For valiant service in the Tver region.” Deputy Head of the Military Academy of Aerospace Defense named after Marshal of the Soviet Union G.K. Zhukov for educational and scientific work, Colonel Vitaly Tikshaev was awarded the title “Honorary Worker of Science and Education of the Tver Region.” The commandant of the military commandant’s office (garrison, 1st category), Lieutenant Colonel Sergei Sazonov, was awarded the sign of the governor of the Tver region “For the good of the land of Tver.” Also, more than 10 servicemen were awarded certificates of honor and gratitude from the governor of the Tver region.
After the award, Igor Rudenya addressed all the servicemen present and thanked them for their contribution to the development of military affairs in the Tver region, also noting that the first military enlistment office in Russia is planned to be opened in the region by the end of 2021, which meets the modern requirements of military commissariats and selection points within the framework of project of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
At the end of the event, the head of the region and the invited guests visited the military glory room of the unit, got acquainted with the exhibits. Then Igor Rudenya left a commemorative inscription in the book of honored guests.
