The excursions for the guests were conducted by the commander of the Astrakhan IAC, Captain 3rd Rank Ivan Dolinin and Captain SB-738 Konstantin Vlasov, who spoke about the mission and capabilities, as well as the history of the ship and the vessel.

Adults and children examined the weapons located on the upper deck of the ship, visited the command post and took photographs for memory.

Russian Ambassador to Iran Levan Dzhagaryan left an entry in the book of honorary visitors of the small artillery ship “Astrakhan”. Levan Semyonovich expressed his admiration for the crew and commander of the ship: “I feel a sense of pride for Russia and its glorious Armed Forces. Long live the Navy, ”he wrote.

A detachment of ships of the Caspian Flotilla consisting of small artillery ships Astrakhan and Makhachkala arrived in the Iranian port of Anzali on August 19 to participate in the Sea Cup competition of professional skills of naval sailors of the International Army Games 2021. Competitions with the crews of the naval ships of Azerbaijan, Iran and Kazakhstan were held in 6 stages on the territory of the naval base and the seaport of Anzali, as well as in the southern part of the Caspian Sea from August 25 to September 01. The closing ceremony will take place tonight, at which the results of the competition will be announced and the winners and awardees will be awarded.

The international army games are being held this year for the seventh time on the initiative of the Russian Ministry of Defense. Their geography covers the territories of 11 countries: Algeria, Armenia, Belarus, Vietnam, Iran, Qatar, Kazakhstan, China, Russia, Serbia and Uzbekistan.

More than 5 thousand servicemen, consisting of 277 teams from 42 countries, took part in the 34 contests of ARMY-2021.
