The ceremony of awarding the winners and prize-winners of three competitions of the VII International Army Games was held in the Republic of Belarus. The festive events dedicated to the closing of the international competitions “Sniper Frontier” in the “Professional”, “Polar Star” and “Confident Welcome” divisions, in which teams from 17 countries took part, were held at the Brestsky training ground.
The event was attended by the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus – First Deputy Minister of Defense of the Republic of Belarus, Major General Viktor Gulevich, Commander of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus, Major General Vadim Denisenko, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, Hero of the Russian Federation, General- Lieutenant Alexander Matovnikov, teams of countries participating in competitions and representatives of the military-diplomatic corps of foreign states.
During the closing ceremony, the winners and prize-winners of the competition were awarded prizes and gifts.
At the international competition for snipers of special forces “Sniper Frontier”, the Russian team showed good results and won the silver medal in a bitter struggle, losing the lead by a small margin to the team of the host country.
In the competition of the Polar Star special forces groups, Russian intelligence officers also took second place, sharing it with the team of Uzbekistan. The first place belongs to the Belarusian team.
“Silver” in the overall team event was won by the team of Russian signalmen, sharing it with the team of China. The first place was also taken by the team of Belarus, and the “bronze” was shared by the teams of Uzbekistan and Vietnam.
Among the women’s teams, the leaders were the Chinese, the second place was taken by the Belarusian team, the third were the Russian military signalmen.
The international stages of the “Sniper Frontier” and “Polar Star” competitions were held on the basis of the Brestsky training ground of the 38th separate guards air assault brigade of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus, and the “Confident reception” competition in Minsk. Teams from Russia, Belarus, Venezuela, Vietnam, India, Iran, Qatar, China, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Mali, Morocco, Pakistan, Serbia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Sri Lanka took part in them.
The 2021 International Army Games were held on the territory of 11 states (Russia, Algeria, Armenia, Belarus, Vietnam, Iran, Qatar, Kazakhstan, China, Serbia, Uzbekistan). In total, more than 5 thousand servicemen, consisting of 277 teams from 42 countries, took part in 34 competitions of ARMI-2021.
