Today, September 4, the final of the Tank Biathlon among the teams of the first division took place at the Alabino training ground. According to the results of the race, the winner and prize-winners of the competition were determined.

The four strongest Tank Biathlon teams representing the armed forces of Russia, China, Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan took part in the race.

During the race, each tank crew covered four laps, overcoming obstacles and hitting targets at three firing lines. Shooting was carried out from a tank cannon on the move, from coaxial and anti-aircraft machine guns – from a place. The competition was attended by three crews from the team on one tank with a replacement crew.

After the meeting of the panel of judges, the official results of the teams became known. The first team to cope with all the tests on the Tank Biathlon track was the Russian team, completing the race in 1 hour and 36 minutes. 49 sec. The second were the tankers of China. Their result of passing the route was 1 hour 44 minutes. 55 sec. Kazakhstan’s crews became bronze medalists, completing the race in 2 hours 3 minutes. 3 sec. The team of Azerbaijan took the fourth place with the result of 2 hours 4 minutes. 50 sec.

Thus, the Tank Biathlon team of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation became the absolute winner of the competition in the individual race and the team relay.

The “Relay” stage is rightfully very popular among the fans of Tank Biathlon. According to the rules of the competition, three crews of each team must alternately pass the track on one tank, while hitting 24 targets and cover almost 50 kilometers of distance. A feature of the relay is flanking fire on the move at tank targets on a 400-meter long section, which is the most difficult element of the Tank Biathlon.

For reference:

In 2021, 19 teams from Africa, Asia and Europe took part in the Tank Biathlon. As before, this year the Russian team was represented by the best tank crews of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation – the winners of the all-army stage of the competition.
