Dmitry Chernyshenko: By joint efforts, our guys won 118 medals, set 17 world records. The team result is fourth in the unofficial standings. In Tokyo, the Russian Paralympians broke the historical record of the Paralympics in London – 118 medals were won, and in 2012 Russia had 102 medals. Our swimmers – Valeria Shabalina, Roman Zhdanov, Andrei Kalina became three-time Paralympic champions … Five athletes of the Russian national team became two-time winners of Tokyo gold – Andrei Nikolaev, Bogdan Mozgovoy in swimming, Mikhail Astashov in cycling, Alexander Kuzyukov in fencing, Dmitry Safronov in athletics. All Russian Paralympic athletes competing in Tokyo have raised the bar and have definitely increased the intensity of competition in the upcoming sports season. I congratulate all the winners and prize-winners of the Paralympic Games in Tokyo, I wish you fortitude and new victories.
