In the period from 7 to 9 September 2021, a planned joint Russian-Belarusian tactical exercise of the reconnaissance units of the Airborne Forces and the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus is being held on the basis of the Ivanovo Guards Airborne Force.
In the course of a joint exercise with paratroopers from Russia and Belarus, the issues of the actions of the consolidated unit in the performance of special and counter-terrorism tasks will be worked out.
The scouts from the two countries will plan the upcoming actions, prepare the units to perform tasks as intended. Then the paratroopers will work out the issues of camouflage and reconnaissance in open areas and in the forest.
On the second day of the exercise, a joint landing from AN-2 aircraft will take place. Russian servicemen will make jumps on the Russian Arbalet-2 special-purpose parachute systems to the Armenka landing site in the Ivanovo region, where they will work out the issues of actions of reconnaissance units in unfamiliar terrain with the development of a covert exit to the mission area.
The third stage of the exercises at the Pesochnoe training ground in the Yaroslavl region will be the destruction of the identified objects of the conditional enemy, with the conduct of practical combat firing.
About 40 servicemen of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus and about 350 servicemen of a separate reconnaissance battalion of the Ivanovo Guards Airborne Forces were involved in the exercise.
