MIL OSI Translation. Region: Russian Federation –
Dear Alexander Dmitrievich,
Thanks for the kind words. This is a “two-way street”: the more actively our regions work in the international arena, the stronger and more effective our foreign policy is.
St. Petersburg is one of the leaders in external relations and cross-border cooperation. Your contribution to the work of educating the younger generation in the spirit of patriotism and preserving historical memory is invaluable. We will always support such events, implement initiatives in the respective countries.
You mentioned one example of foreign economic relations, but you have a huge amount of investments with Finland, Germany and other states. Information and business councils work in Italy, Germany, Greece, China. In the Asian direction, as well as in the European one, St. Petersburg has a very good track record – in Asia, Central Asia, incl. in Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and other countries.
The tourist potential and attractiveness of St. Petersburg is also well known. We are trying in every possible way to promote this sector of the economy of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region. Your city pioneered the introduction of e-visas a few years ago. Measures are underway to further facilitate the visa regime. You can get multiple-entry visas valid for up to one year, there are also other exemptions.
It is fundamentally important for us to advertise and promote (in a good way) the historical and cultural value of St. Petersburg. Thank you for the fact that you personally and the Committee for External Relations of St. Petersburg – our long-term and good partner – are doing a lot so that Russia is known objectively, firsthand. And we got to know our people, culture and history directly.
Thank you for your continued support for the work of the Representative Office of the Russian Foreign Ministry in St. Petersburg. This is the largest representative office of the Ministry in the regions of the Russian Federation.
In my opinion, we have good results of joint work and plans for the future.
