The “Safety Week” is held from September 6 to 10, 2021 as part of an interdepartmental experimental research exercise for the implementation of measures to protect the territories within the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation from emergencies.
The events of the Week covered all 9 constituent entities of the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation. They take place in kindergartens, schools, organizations of secondary vocational and higher education.
Every day of this event corresponds to a specific topic: teaching the subject of life safety, fire safety, safety in the natural and man-made environment, training on evacuation to educational organizations, etc.
So, today in the cities of the Arctic zone was held “Day of teaching the subject of life safety and the discipline of Belarusian Railways.”
About 7.6 thousand preschoolers from 198 kindergartens took part in open lessons on life safety in the Arctic regions; more than 103 thousand schoolchildren from 532 schools, 41 organizations of secondary specialized education and more than 6.7 thousand students.
More than 400 people have registered in the online conference of MGOU with the teachers of OBZh and teachers of the Belarusian Railways. Evacuation trainings were conducted by 14 kindergartens and 74 schools.
An open lesson for school cadets was held at the Northern Maritime Museum of Arkhangelsk. During the excursion, the emphasis was placed on the fundamental role of Arkhangelsk – the first international seaport of Russia, the cradle of shipbuilding, a center for the study, development and practical use of the Arctic resources.
The cadets listened with pleasure to the history of their native land and looked at the models of the first wooden ships. The greatest interest among the children was aroused by the story of their travels to the Arctic and the large model of the white lighthouse, which is still in operation and is located on the western coast of Mudyug Island.
In Murmansk, in the first week of September, the project Bezopasnost.rf was launched in Russian schools. The lessons were devoted to social security, countering terrorism and first aid. Specialists of the Emergency Psychological Aid Center of the Russian Emergencies Ministry conducted a practical online lesson on first aid. Psychologists EMERCOM of Russia demonstrated how to act consciously in emergency situations, how to do artificial respiration correctly, how to remove a foreign body from the respiratory tract using the Heimlich technique and answered the audience’s questions. The topic of first aid is important and paramount, it is in demand among the population. More than 310 thousand viewers joined the broadcast.
Vorkuta cadets and students will conduct a flash mob “We are for a Safe Arctic”. Participants stretched 10-meter flags of the Russian Federation and the Komi Republic, the emblem of the Arctic exercises. Volunteers of the Vorkuta branch of the All-Russian student rescue corps, operating on the basis of the Vorkuta Mining and Economic College, took part in the exhibition of fire and emergency rescue equipment. Rescue students demonstrated to the guests of the exhibition a historical reconstruction of the clothes of firefighters of different years.
Here one could see well-known characters in the republic: the brandmayor – the head of the city fire brigade in the Russian Empire before the 1917 revolution, life-size puppets – the fireman Ugolkov, the Vorkut women in national costumes and the 10-meter inflatable figure of “Faerman”.
At present, all educational institutions of the city within the framework of the “Safety Week” are preparing for the Open Doors Days in the Vorkuta AKASTS, the paramilitary mine rescue detachment, and fire and rescue units.
Tomorrow, September 7, the program of the Russian Arctic Week will be devoted to fire safety.
