Order of September 6, 2021 No. 2461-r

2 billion rubles will be allocated for measures to combat the spread of COVID-2019 and other dangerous infections. The order was signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

Part of the funds will be directed to the creation of PCR centers. They will open in large cities, including Moscow, St. Petersburg, Novosibirsk, Yekaterinburg, Nizhny Novgorod, Kazan, Chelyabinsk, Omsk, Samara. A total of 223 million rubles will be allocated for these purposes.

Funding will also go to the creation of a complex of four laboratories intended for development in the field of biochemistry, infectious diagnostics, monitoring and identification of pathogens. In addition, the signed order provides for measures to study the variability of pathogens COVID-2019 and other new infections, equipping hygiene and epidemiology centers with special equipment, strengthening sanitary control units at border checkpoints.

The source of funds will be the Government’s reserve fund.

As Mikhail Mishustin noted at a government meeting on September 3, such steps are necessary in order to create a reliable “sanitary shield” for the country and protect citizens from the spread of infections.

In his Address to the Federal Assembly, Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed to take additional measures to combat the spread of dangerous infections.
