The battalion tactical group of a motorized rifle formation stationed in the Chechen Republic, according to the plan of the exercise at the Gvardeisky combined-arms training range, entered into battle against an equal unit of the coastal defense brigade of the Black Sea Fleet.

In the exercise, motorized riflemen use sniper tanks capable of defeating with anti-tank guided missiles, self-propelled anti-tank missile systems “Chrysanthemum-S”, sniper pairs with a large-caliber sniper rifle ASVK and crews of the anti-tank missile system “Kornet”. In this composition, the subunits will provide cover for the main breakthrough group of the enemy’s front line of defense.

The exercises are held using a unified control system during the development of tactics for mobile defense and offensive, including at night. Particular attention is paid to the actions of counter-battery warfare and countering shock drones.

The exercise involved more than 200 pieces of equipment, including T-72B3 tanks, BMP-3 infantry fighting vehicles, Sani towed mortars, Lynx armored vehicle, KamAZ 5350, Msta-B towed artillery mounts, BTR-82A armored personnel carriers …

At the same time, four bilateral battalion and one regimental tactical exercises are held in the Southern Military District at combined-arms training grounds located in the Stavropol Territory, the Rostov Region, the Chechen Republic, the Volgograd Region and the Crimea. About 10 thousand servicemen take part in them, about 800 pieces of weapons and equipment are involved, including tanks, infantry fighting vehicles, artillery pieces and multiple launch rocket systems. For the purpose of interspecific interaction, more than 40 aircraft and helicopters of army and operational-tactical aviation have been attracted from the association of the Air Force and Air Defense of the Southern Military District.
