In the Rostov region, at the Kadamovsky training ground, during battalion tactical exercises, servicemen of the 150th motorized rifle division of the Southern Military District (YuVO) repulsed the superior forces of the mock enemy.

Prior to this, the units carried out marches to the designated areas, where they carried out the engineering equipment of the occupied positions.

According to the concept of the exercise, a conventional enemy superior in strength tried to deliver a massive blow. Motorized riflemen, supported by BMP-3 infantry fighting vehicles, entered the oncoming battle and with fire from 30-mm cannons destroyed the armored vehicles of the conditional enemy, and with small arms and hand grenade launchers they suppressed manpower.

Air support was provided by the crews of the army aviation helicopters of the Southern Military District Mi-28N “Night Hunter”, Mi-35, Mi-8AMTSh “Terminator” with amplification means. Helicopter clearance and combat escort teams provided fire support and ensured the defense of the designated line.

After the landing, the helicopters equipped with smoke containers set up an aerosol curtain.

During the stage of live firing, motorized riflemen hit more than 300 targets imitating enemy aircraft, armored vehicles and manpower. Tank subunits performed live firing at targets located at a distance of up to 4 thousand meters.

In the course of engineering support of troops in conditions of maneuvering defense, engineering units used the “Syrian rampart” tactic, which ensures the creation of bulk shelters for armored vehicles during combat and performing anti-fire maneuvers. Also, the servicemen carried out engineering reconnaissance of the terrain and objects, provided the device and maintenance of engineering barriers, making passages in mined areas, preparing and maintaining routes of movement and maneuvering of troops.

A feature of the exercises was the use of natural camouflage terrain conditions and standard camouflage equipment, the use of an automated system for receiving and transmitting information. Unmanned aerial vehicles were used to monitor the actions of military personnel.
