Servicemen of a separate motorized rifle brigade of the Western Military District (ZVO) at the Kirillovsky training ground in the Leningrad Region practiced maneuvering defense as part of a bilateral tactical exercise with live fire.

T-72B3 tanks, lightly armored tractors, crews of Grad multiple launch rocket systems, Gvozdika self-propelled howitzers and Sani mortar complexes fired at the advancing “enemy”.

Air support to the defending units was provided by the crews of the Ka-52 Alligator attack helicopters of the district’s army aviation formation. The air lines were covered by Shilka self-propelled anti-aircraft guns. At the same time, the crews of the Orlan-10 unmanned aerial vehicle complexes coordinated the actions of the interspecific grouping of troops to inflict fire damage on a simulated enemy.

In total, more than 500 military personnel of the Western Military District were involved in the tactical exercise, about 150 units of military and special equipment were involved.
