Alexander Vorontsov, Chairman of the Commission for Security and Interaction with the POC of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation, got acquainted with the activities of the site, which functions as a correctional center at IK-13 of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia in the Khabarovsk Territory. The visit to the institution took place within the framework of the Regional Forum “Community”.

The first section in Khabarovsk, functioning as a correctional center, for serving sentences in the form of forced labor, opened in February this year. The center is designed to accommodate 47 convicts. All those sentenced to forced labor, in accordance with their qualifications, are employed at enterprises in Khabarovsk.

Accompanied by Sergey Zhatkin, Deputy Head of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia for the Khabarovsk Territory, representatives of the Public Chamber and the POC of the Territory made a round of the institution, examined living rooms, rooms for eating and preparing food, showers, utility rooms and premises for short-term detention of convicts for violating the conditions of serving sentences and spoke with convicted.

There were no comments and appeals on the work of the institution from convicts to public figures.
