This will make it possible to form a new large transport hub, which will be able to be used by passengers of the Moscow Central Circle, Troitskaya and the future Biryulevskaya metro lines.

The main section of the Troitskaya line of the Moscow metro will be extended from the station “Sevastopolsky Prospekt” to “ZIL”. Planning project approved Sergei Sobyaninat a meeting of the Presidium of the Moscow Government.

On the projected section 1.8 kilometers long, it is planned to build the ZIL station. On it it will be possible to change trains to the station of the same name of the Moscow Central Ring (MCC), and in the future to the projected Biryulevskaya metro line. Thus, a new large transport interchange hub will be formed, uniting the MCC, Troitskaya and Biryulevskaya metro lines.

The head section of the Troitskaya line will run mainly under non-residential areas along the northern section of the MCC.

The extension of the line from the Sevastopolskiy Prospekt station to the ZIL station will increase the demand for the line by creating an additional transport hub. It will also improve transport services for Muscovites in the Akademicheskiy, Kotlovka, Nagorny, Donskoy and eastern parts of the Danilovskiy district (the former ZIL industrial zone) with a population of over 400 thousand people. In addition, the traffic intensity on the adjacent road network will be reduced. This will improve the environmental situation in these areas of the capital.

In the future, a new diametrical metro line may be formed by extending the Troitskaya line to the Nizhegorodskaya station and connecting it with the Nekrasovskaya line.
