On September 7, on the second day of the Russian Arctic Safety Week, specialists from the Russian Emergencies Ministry held events aimed at improving the culture of handling open fire and fire propaganda.

Correct fire safety behavior is taught from preschool age. Today, employees of the Main Directorate of the EMERCOM of Russia in the Chukotka Autonomous District, the Arkhangelsk Region held events with kindergarten and school children. During the meeting with the children, conversations were held to promote a culture of safe behavior in the field of fire safety, discussed what to do if there was a fire, how to use a fire extinguisher and what fire detectors are used for.

A fire and rescue exhibition has opened on Peace Square in Arkhangelsk, where more than 10 units of specialized equipment are presented. The brass band of the Main Directorate of the EMERCOM of Russia in the Arkhangelsk Region demonstrated a demonstration performance to the audience. Responders have demonstrated strength and power in crossfit fire performances. Interactive thematic platforms of the Arkhangelsk branch of the VDPO, Rossoyuzspas and the Red Cross worked for children. Pupils of the cadet class of the Russian Emergencies Ministry at secondary school No. 28 in Arkhangelsk performed a dance flash mob.

A two-day youth forum “Vector of Salvation – North” has started in Murmansk. During this time, thanks to the specialists of the All-Russian student corps of rescuers who arrived from Moscow, students of higher educational institutions will receive a theoretical base, practical skills in the field of safety, namely, they will learn about the rules of behavior at the scene of an incident, about how to assess the situation and call the necessary services, about the organization evacuation of people from the danger zone, on the use of primary fire extinguishing equipment to extinguish fires, as well as on methods of providing first aid.
