An all-Russian socio-patriotic action “There is such a profession – to defend the Motherland” was held in Simferopol, timed to coincide with the 800th anniversary of the holy blessed prince Alexander Nevsky.

The center of the celebration was the Cathedral of St. Alexander Nevsky in Simferopol, which is the regimental temple of the army corps of the Black Sea Fleet (Black Sea Fleet).

In the temple, representatives of the clergy of the Crimean diocese held a prayer service, after which the servicemen of the formations and military units of the army corps of the Black Sea Fleet, who distinguished themselves most in helping to eliminate the consequences of the floods in the Republic of Crimea, were honored.

For loyalty to professional duty and service to the Fatherland, about 20 servicemen received statuettes of Prince Alexander Nevsky, diplomas and valuable gifts. The laureates were awarded by representatives of the interregional public fund “Army and Culture”, member of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation from the city of Sevastopol Sergey Kolbin and deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation from the Republic of Crimea Mikhail Sheremet.

In addition to military personnel, more than 100 pupils of military-patriotic clubs of the regional branch of DOSAAF of Russia took part in the event, whose leaders were also awarded prizes for educating the younger generation.
