The calculations of the anti-aircraft missile unit of the combined arms army of the Western Military District (ZVO) in the Nizhny Novgorod region repelled the attacks of a simulated air enemy as part of a tactical exercise on the ground.

Servicemen on standard military equipment made a 150-kilometer march to the combined-arms training ground, where they worked out the tasks of reconnaissance, tracking and destruction of air targets in conditions of the use of active noise interference, as well as anti-radar missiles. The enemy was the crews of the Ka-52 “Alligator” and Mi-8 AMTSh “Terminator” helicopters.

In addition, the servicemen worked out a number of tasks to destroy sabotage and reconnaissance groups.

More than 300 servicemen took part in the exercise and more than 80 units of military and special equipment were involved, including the Osa and Strela-10 anti-aircraft missile systems, the Tunguska-M anti-aircraft cannon-missile systems and portable anti-aircraft missile systems “Needle”.
