The development of industrial zones will create about half a million jobs.
“Today we are working on about 130 industrial territories with a total area of about two thousand hectares. This is a huge volume for our city. If translated into money, then this is attracting seven trillion rubles of investment, creating about half a million jobs, tens of millions of square meters of housing, ”the Moscow Mayor emphasized.
According to him, more than half of all housing and new facilities within the Moscow Ring Road are being built on the site of old industrial areas. Due to the involvement of economically depressed zones in this process, in 2021 Moscow will reach a record volume of housing construction – about six million square meters. Serey Sobyanin noted that work in this direction must be continued, since there are a sufficient number of industrial zones in a depressed state in the city.
This year, projects for the integrated development of territories of former industrial zones were combined into a program “Industrial quarters”… It allows unused and virtually abandoned urban areas to be brought into circulation. The implementation of the program will allow the construction of about 90 new kindergartens and schools, as well as 27 sports facilities. The first contract was concluded in July 2020 – this is a project for the integrated development of the territory in the Oktyabrskoye Pole industrial zone.
