The Soviet light tank T-60 will be shown for the first time at the Armor of Tankograda military-patriotic festival, dedicated to the Tankman’s Day. The event will take place on September 11 in the Chelyabinsk region at the training ground of the Central Military District (CVD).

The T-60 is a light tank that was developed in August 1941 at one of the Moscow factories under the leadership of designer Nikolai Astrov. Spectators will be able not only to see the combat vehicle, but also to learn the history of its creation, as well as take a memorable photo with it.

In addition, festival visitors will see the figured driving of T-72B3 battle tanks, as well as a static display of more than 30 modern combat vehicles in service with the Central Military District’s Guards Tank Division, and historical armored vehicles.

For reference:

Tanker’s Day was established in 1946 and is celebrated annually on the second Sunday of September. It originates from the parade-march of the Kantemirovskaya Guards Tank Division, which took place on Red Square and became the first official celebration of the Tankman’s Day. The holiday is included in the list of professional holidays of the RF Armed Forces.
